OpenCode is a free, open-source AI coding agent. It works like Claude Code or Codex, in a desktop app or in your terminal. In October 2026 it added NVIDIA's Nemotron 3.5 Super VL to its free list.

    Download OpenCode

    Get the desktop app from opencode.ai/download, or install it in your terminal. The command is on the same page.

    Pick your folder

    Open it, start a new session and pick the folder you want to work in.

    Pick the free model

    Click the model name, search Nemotron and pick Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, the one marked Free.

  4. 4

    Tell it what to build

    Type what you want, like a landing page for your business.

Is it really free?

OpenCode is free and open source. The free Nemotron model is only free for a limited time.

Is my data private?

OpenCode uses the free period to collect feedback and improve the model, so do not paste personal or client data.

How good is Nemotron?

It has 120 billion parameters and reads text, images, documents and video. The benchmark scores are NVIDIA's own tests.
